The Red Admiral caterpillar is a wonder to watch and learn about the metamorphosis process. Watch these Red Admiral caterpillars grow from a tiny worm-like caterpillar to a crysalis. Then emerge into a large butterfly with striking dark brown, red and black wing patterns. These Red Admiral larvae are very colorful and voracious feeders. Please remember to have False Nettle or Pellitory for these caterpillars when they arrive. You may purchase your False Nettle or Pellitory from us or from a local dealer. Caterpillars usually take from one to three weeks to reach pupation size depending on species, temperature and amount of food available.
